Q1. What programmes are offered under the ODL mode by CUH?
A1. The Central University of Haryana offers three postgraduate programmes under the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode: MA (Hindi), MA (Journalism & Mass Communication), and M.Com.
Q2. Are these ODL programmes recognized by the UGC?
A2. Yes. The ODL programmes of CUH are recognized by the University Grants Commission–Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), ensuring their validity and equivalence with regular programmes.
Q3. What is the duration of these programmes?
A3. Each programme has a minimum duration of 2 years (divided into 4 semesters) and a maximum duration of 4 years, within which the learner must complete the course requirements.
Q4. Is the syllabus and evaluation process the same as regular CUH programmes?
A4. Yes. The syllabus, scheme of examination, and evaluation process for ODL programmes are the same as those followed in CUH’s regular programmes.
Q5. What is the eligibility criteria for admission?

  • MA (Hindi): Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as a subject or equivalent.
  • MA (Journalism & Mass Communication): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • M.Com: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related discipline.
Q6. How can I apply for admission?
A6. Admission is through the CUH ODL online portal. Candidates need to register, fill the application form, upload required documents, and pay the prescribed fee.
Q7. What type of study material is provided?
A7. The University provides Self-Learning Material (SLM) in digital format through the ODL portal, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for learners. Printed study material may also be made available.
Q8. Are there any contact classes or PCPs (Personal Contact Programmes)?
A8. Yes. CUH organizes Personal Contact Programmes (PCPs) and other academic interactions in blended mode to clarify doubts and enhance learning. Attendance is encouraged but may not be mandatory.
Q9. How is the evaluation conducted?
    A9. Evaluation consists of two components:
  • Continuous Assessment (Assignments/Projects, etc.).
  • End Semester Examinations conducted by CUH.
